MAC All That Glitters Dupe?!

I can safely say, after buying my first MAC eyeshadow, I fell in love. The pigmentation and colour pay off, staying power and all round excellent quality has me completly in awre!
But despite my love fore them, like everyone else, I am always on the look out for dupes, but little did I know, I had a similar shadow in my collection already!

The dupe I have found is Barry M Dazzle Dust in Tan.

L- Barry M, R- MAC

The only difference is, the Barry M is a bit less peach, and more shimmery. The staying power of the MAC is much better, which I guess is a given, as 9/10 times, you get what you pay for with MAC. Even with a primer, MAC doesnt crease at all, where as with the Barry M, you may come across slight fading throughout the day.

Price Difference:
MAC All That Glitters=  £10 in pan form, or £12 normally.
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Tan= £4.59

Saving of:
£5.41, or £6.51 depending on how you purchase you eyeshadows.

Personally, I prefer the look of All That Glitters when its on the lid, but if you are on a budget, then the Barry M Dazzle Dust is perfect!

Do you own either of these?

In the past, I've made a few wishlists, but never got round to keeping them up, but after reading my fair share of wishlists today, I thought it was about time I started making them myself!

1. Topshop Moto Zip Hem Neon 7th/8th Jeans- These will be just perfect for summer! Knowing British weather, I dont know how much sun my shorts (or legs!) will see, so these quarter legth bright pink jeans will be perfect for those days when your torn between your winter jeans and your hotpants!
Currently on sale for £15, RRP £38. Here.

2. Vintage Minnie Mouse for OPI- My perfect OPI collection! What girl doesnt adore a stunnig combination of reds, fushias, glitters and creamy pinks! The colours L-R are If You Moust You Moust, I'm All Ears, The Colour Of Minnie & Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It. 3. Topshop Sleeveless Peplum Top in Magenta- Peplum tops and dresses are everywhere. Celebrities worldwide are sporting them, as they claim, to create the illusion of a smaller waist. I've seen this particular top on a few people now, and it looks really flattering on.

4. Look Triple Hit Trio Eye Shadow in La Luxe- I know I'm a bit late on the badwago here, I remember whe reviews for this palete were everywhere, but I never really paid much attetion to it. The pigmentation is amazing, and the three colours are so pretty!

Review: Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H

When it comes to eyeliner, in the past, I've always used either kohl or liquid liner. Gel is a fairly new concept to me.
After seeing Tanya use it in a tutorial, and say it came only just second best to the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner, I knew I had to try it!

It comes in a little box, containing the eyeliner and a liner brush.

Here's the liner and the brush.

The frosted glass jar adds a little more sophistication to the usual clear jars.

The liner is is a jet black and a really thick consistency.

I had heard people on other reviews saying that gel liner was easier to apply than liquid or kohl, and I can definitely see why! I managed to make the perfect wing with just one try!

I have definitely been converted to gel eyeliner, and will not be going back any time soon?

What are your thoughts on gel eyeliners?

Review MUA Lipstick in Shade 13

A few weeks ago, I was looking for a red lipstick for the Jubilee, and MUA was the first brand I looked for one. You cant argue with the price, and the quality is really good! When I brought the lipsticks, Superdrug were offering a 3 for 2 deal, so I got 3 lipsticks for £2!
The final shade I am reviewing, is the red shade itself!

The packaging is as you would expect for a £1 lipstick, it is not great quality, but it is sleek enough to blend in your makeup collection!

This shade is the perfect red. It is pretty bright, and I can see it suiting all skin tones!

Without Flash:

It is a really great red shade that I have been wearing when I feel patriotic!

Have you tried any MUA lipsticks?

I Went To Chanel...

Slap my wrists! As well as splurging at MAC at the weekend, I also bought possibly the most expensive makeup product I will ever own! But boy, was it worth it!

It is the Chanel Vitalumier Aqua Foundation!

In Debenhams, a very helpful lady at the Chanel counter matched me to my skin colour. As I was paying for the foundation, she began to put it in a normal Debenhams bag, and I'm pretty sure she saw the look of disappointment in my face, as I was hoping for a Chanel bag. She then put it in a beautiful Chanel bag, which has now taken pride of place on the top of my shelf! I felt like someone from the cast of Made in Chelsea with this little baby on my arm!

It is surprising small in person- even though it is the normal 30ml.

I am in the shade 20 Beige.

Isn't the packaging gorgeous? Who would think that such a simple logo could make a girls heart flutter?!

What Chanel says:

CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE AQUA Ultra-Light Skin Perfective Makeup Instant Natural Radiance SPF15 30ml. A new-generation texture. An unprecedented sensory experience. A unique makeup result. Rapid and easy application. VITALUMIÈRE AQUA. Apply your makeup without thinking about it. Its soft and evanescent ultra-fine fluid texture is a real surprise: although exceptionally delicate and light, it offers an incomparable second-skin perfecting result. The complexion appears amazingly even, freshand energised. The skin glows with seemingly nude beauty. As if lit from within. Bathed in light... Its formula, enriched with a UVB sun filter and mineral sunscreen, protects the skin from damaging sun rays (SPF 15). Its crystalline fragrance accentuates the sensation of freshness and pleasure on application.

Sorry, a lot to take in!

It really does what it says on the tin. Although it is not the most high coverage foundation on the market, it makes my skin look flawless, and it really is weightless! With SPF 15 it is wearable during summer, and even without a primer it lasts all day, which, having an oily complexion, is usually a problem for me.

Which leads me onto the fact that, the name has 'Aqua' in it, which suggests it is a water based foundation. (Hence the fact you need to shake it before application, unless you want a watery mess)! Usually alarm bells would ring, making you think that this foundation would be unsuitable for oily skin, but in my opinion, it is perfect!

It suits all skin types, and Chanel have a relatively large range of shades.

On my shopping trip, it was this that did the damage.

Some may ask, is it worth it?

My reply;

Every penny!

What are your thoughts on the Chanel Vitalumier Aqua foundation?

My Big Collective Haul Video

So if some of you havnt seen it already, I have recorded a Big Collective Haul on my youtube channel. It would mean the world if you guys watched it, and maybe subscribed?!

Hope you enjoy the video!

Review: MUA Lipstick in Shade 7

A few weeks ago, I was looking for a red lipstick for the Jubilee, and MUA was the first brand I looked for one. You cant argue with the price, and the quality is really good! When I brought the lipsticks, Superdrug were offering a 3 for 2 deal, so I got 3 lipsticks for £2!
I will be doing a review post of all of them during the course of the week.
The second shade I will be reviewing is shade 7.

The packaging is as you would expect for a £1 lipstick, it is not great quality, but it is sleek enough to blend in your makeup collection!

This colour is a peachy coral with red undertones.

This lipstick is a lot more pigmented than the last one, and looks amazing on!

Without Flash:

This lipstick is much more pigmented than the last one I reviewed. For a drugstore lipstick, it glides on really well, and the staying power is pretty good too!

This is my favourite coral lipstick I own. It is really flattering and great for summer!

Have you tried any of the MUA Lipsticks?

I Went To MAC...

I can only apologise for my recent lack of posts, but I will be making up for it, by writing lots of new posts, and two new youtube videos are up on my channel- yay!

On Saturday, me and my best friend went to Birmingham on a shopping trip that we had been planning for at least 3 months! We were originally going to go to Cardiff, but there was a problem with the trains to Cardiff, so we changed to Birmingham at the last minute, but I think its safe to say, we're both glad we did!

I've recorded a Big Collective Haul where I show all the bits I have bought recently, but I'm going to do a few blog posts, to talk about some of the products in more depth.

Unlike Cardiff, Birmingham has no MAC store, just a counter in Selfridges. As expected, it was manic, but we did find a lovely sales assistant to help us find what we wanted.

The first item I wanted, was the 15 Pro Palette. It is a sleek, black, empty palette that you can fill yourself with your choice of whatever colours. The slots are magnetic, to ensure that when you insert any pan eyeshadows, you are reassured that they are not going to fall out.

Obviously, an empty palette isn't the least bit appealing, therefore, an eyeshadow in pan form was a must!

The shade I bought was one that I knew had to be my first MAC eyeshadow. It is the perfect neutral that suits any skin tone and is incredibly flattering.

The shade is All That Glitters.

This picture shows the magnet on the back to ensure it stays in place in the palette.

What MAC says:

Beige with Gold Pearl

It is a Veluxe Pearl Finish.

Personally, I think it is more of a peach colour when on the eye lids- but I guess the people at MAC are the experts!

Despite the name, this eyeshadow contains minimal glitter. It has a slight shimmer to it, but nothing too extravagant. It is a perfect day colour (and as I have said already) it flatters all skin tones.  Although you could dress it up with a darker bronze or brown in the outer corner of your eye, and use eyeliner, to transform it into a night-time look.
As usual with MAC products, the pigmentation is phenomenal, and you really get what you pay for. One swatch gives enough product to cover your whole eyelid.

I also purchased a lipstick that I have had my eye on for a while.

It is, in my opinion, the perfect nude. It compliments any eye look you are wearing; whether its a neutral or smokey eye, and again, it will work with any skin tone.

The shade is Creme Cup.

What MAC says:

Light Blue Pink

It is a Cremesheen Finish.

It is a really wearable nude, perfect for day and night. The name 'Cremesheen' sugests it is a very 'creamy' lipstick. It applies beautifully and doesn't dry the lips at all. Also, the blue undertones in the lipstick give the illusion of whiter teeth.
Again, pigmentation is amazing, not something I'm used to as my other MAC lipstick is a Lustre finish, which doesn't give as much coverage.

15 Pro Palette- £11.50
Eyeshadow in Pan Form- £10
Lipstick- £13.50

I hope you enjoyed this MAC post, and comment below and tell me any MAC products you would recommend!
